“Out of the ashes of the CBC Radio Orchestra rises the National Broadcast Orchestra.” Vancouver Sun. Under conductor Alain Trudel, the official debut on January 8 opened with Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony and then Beethoven’s Concerto #0 featuring pianist Anton Kuerti and included works by Edmonton’s Allan Gilliland, and Michael Oesterle’s new classical symphony The Sparrow’s Ledge. The program reflected the mandate of the orchestra with a considerable presence on the internet, “content delivery through on-demand streaming and downloading”.
You may now enjoy the NBO’s debut performance through CBC’s Concerts On Demand.
